Let's give the time some time!

The fourth estate can make you reach the wonders of heaven or the gallows of hell.

A year back, Team Blue won the World Cup after 28 long years. The media showered praises uplifting them to the status of gods in human form. They were welcomed like true patriotic sons of India who have made their motherland extremely proud. However, after a string of losses in England test series, they are berated for not doing their work with integrity. From HERO to ZERO in no time!!
Amarnath, a previous selector has expressed his wish to sack Dhoni as the ODI captain. He has also revealed that last year, lot of members on the board agreed with his view except the BCCI chairman, N Srinivasan.  Amarnath believes that Dhoni's style of functioning was highly "individualistic" despite he helping India to win the World championship and IPL(as captain of Chennai Super Kings). He has defamed Dhoni at a time when he needs motivation and support. Understanding the severity of the situation, Dhoni has shown remarkable maturity by not interfering with the administration.
Why are the "Former All rounders" behaving in such an immature manner? Why are we keeping such short-sighted view about such a critical issue? Don't they realise that a decision like this can make or mar Indian cricket?
But I think...
The problem lies elsewhere. The India cricket is going through a transition crisis. Senior leaders like Rahul Dravid, Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh no longer exist in the test squad. New youngsters have come in and they need to get trained for international matches. We all know how prestigious it is to be a part of the Blue League so it would not be just to make any extremist opinions about the new-comers. The young blood must sharpen their strategies to get ready for the D-day.The BCCI and other selectors must impose lot of faith in the chosen cricketers and give them time to hone their talent.
Leave alone Dhoni ; even the cricket maestro i.e. Sachin tendulkar is being berated for not performing "upto the mark". Why do people forget that he is a HUMAN after all? He can't change the course of ball even though he tries his best to tame it. Most of the execs in sports administration are trying to signal that it is time for Sachin to resign. Sachin has immensely rich experience and has always turned out with flying colours in times of crisis. He is a tiger who,if cornered, can be dangerous. I am eagerly waiting for his stormy growl that would render all his critics speechless. The cricketers who need to be prodded a little are batsmen like Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir who can save Indian team from losing its sheen.
Recently, the media is also abuzz with news of rifts amongst the team players. It is said that "If two men on the same job agree all the time, then one is useless. If they disagree all the time, both are useless." When a team works together, many times there are some huffs and tiffs but it doesn't mean that they don't know how to play cricket. All these vagaries are a part of the great game and it strengthens the bond between the team members. It brings them closer and helps them to give outstanding performances.

My final stance - Instead of getting into such time-consuming controversies, the team must concentrate on their vision(and their mission) no matter how blurry it gets!
They have just come together-so it is a beginning, they need to keep together- to show progress and they will surely work together - to make it a success.

An exam, after all!

It is an exam, she had been told! Some meticulous planning, scheduling and studying Nothing she hadn't aced before School and college work had been rewarding It is yet another exam, after all! Like always, there shall be no stone unturned Read and write for long stretches Stretches and walks in short breaks Selective study as per the marks it fetches Just an exam, after all! More sweat in training meant less blood in battle Day and night wasn't as per the position of sun anymore Portions of syllabus covered decided its end Notes and questions more important than any chore Exam wont wait for her, it wont! This was the time to make things happen Revise and re-revise till facts form a chain A lot was left to summarise and memorise Till each detail has a GPS pin in the brain Exam was coming close, it was! Questions became black holes with no limits to depth Oh wait, not just the recollection and memory She also had to brush her writing skills How is today's politics affected

Jo, you there?

Jo sat down on her table, the one beside the window. She could see her mother nourish the plants in the garden with water, just the way she had nurtured her daughters to be the women they are now. Grateful for the blessings, she turned to pen the thoughts welling up in her mind. Today, it was about ‘LOVE’ to her 50 year old self. ------ Dear oldie Jo, Hope you have your perfectly brewed coffee by your side! Love to you was an unknown notion-something that wasn’t much heard of during dinner table conversations or talked about in school or college. Like the rest, you did hear your pals and peers talk about it and experience it based on their instinct. While you understood the mindspace they came from, you didn’t feel the need to experiment. In the early years of adulthood, love seemed too superfluous to you. And in some proportions, you considered it as a distraction that would take you away from yourself and your family. Without judging others, you still felt very sure

A girl like you

A frantic nudge on the back was enough to wake me up and disturb my deep peaceful slumber time. Before I realised, it was my sister who had seen a bad dream and wanted me to help her go back to sleep. I hugged her closer to myself and mumbled to her that tomorrow morning will be better than today. Within a few minutes, she was asleep on my arm and I kept looking at her 10-year old face for a long time. I wished, then, that she always remain this close to me as she was at that moment. Till now, my wish has unfolded into an eventful journey.  If I was gentle and all nice, she was all about sass, jazz and spice; If I was reserved and introverted, she was social and ‘Noddy’–incarnated;  If I liked uni-colour cloth patches, she carried shiny dresses with unmatched panache; If I found peace in nature and solitude, she preferred blaring music and lots of DJ dance; If I savoured plain idli and chutney, she gormandized on mysore masala dosa and spicy sambar. The two of us have
